Dreamin’ of Summer? The Chic Bandeau Bikini Pattern

Dreamin’ of summer? Yes, maybe a little even though when I was sweating under the hot summer sun, I wanted it to be winter already 🙂 So I am not complaining. Somehow I find myself sewing my bikinis at the peak of winter. What happens is by the time I realize that I need some…

Grainline Moss Skirt from Sprout Patterns

Making a skirt from sprout patterns was definitely a different sewing experience. Let’s start by the ordering process. You go to the company’s website and choose a sewing pattern that you like from a number of designers. Then you choose your fabric and the pattern pieces are printed directly on the fabric. This is great…

Tilly’s Bettine Dress Version 2

I made a previous version of this dress last summer and as I expected I ended up wearing Tilly’s Bettine dress a lot. So when I started thinking of adding a new, comfortable, easy-to wear everyday dress to my wardrobe, I thought about this pattern again. The previous version was made of woven fabric, light-weight…

Comfortable and Elegant Backpack: The Cooper Bag by Colette

I have been looking for a bag that would have the comfort of a backpack but would also have the look of an everyday city bag. When I saw Colette’s Cooper bag, I really liked the style and I thought that with the right material I could turn it into a versatile bag.

The Soma Swimsuit: One Piece Version

I don’t remember the last time I bought a one piece swimsuit or wore one to the beach. I wear one for swimmers when I go to the pool for swimming but that’s about it. That’s why I was excited to try this swimsuit by Papercut Patterns. It gave me a chance to make one…

7 Tips for Making Your Own Swimsuit from a Ready Made Pattern

I began making swimsuits because I like being active on the beach and I could never find a bikini that is both nice and comfortable at the same time. I would be frustrated going from store to store and not finding anything that I like. For someone who is used to making everyday garments like…

Completed! The Dress Shirt by Merchant & Mills

I put in the second sleeve right into its place a few days ago finally completing the Dress Shirt. I was not sure how this dress will turn out in the end. I am used to sewing more closely fitted garments and I was not sure whether I could go with the loose style of…

Still pregnant and still trying to fit into something and be somewhat fashionable. This might be the funkiest shirt I have ever made. It is #le603 from #dpstudio . Bought the fabric online from a Turkish company. Uzun zamandir uzerinde calistigim gomlegim bitti. Dusundugumden cilgin oldugunu soyleyebilirim. #sewing #dikis #couture #sewingproject #handmadebyme #handmadeclothes #handmadepregnancy #elyapimi #diyfashion #bendiktim #dpstudiofashion
Just finished sewing the #saharashirt by #ralphpinkpatterns . I used different shades of blue for the collar and the end of arms. I shortened the hem by 5 cm because it was too long and took in 2 cm from the sides. Yeni bitirdigim elbisem, yapimi icin farkli tonlarda mavi keten kumas kullandim. #sewing #dikis #couture #sewingproject #handmadebyme #handmadeclothes #elyapimi #diyfashion #bendiktim
It is almost reveal day for the February make of #sewmystyle2018 and I can't believe that I am on time too :) This is the #estellepontejacket from #stylearcpatterns . I used a wool knit to get a more cardigan look. I paired it with the second #sunnydress that I made. I hacked the #sunnydress from #fridaypatterncompany to a maternity dress. It is a very comfy jacket. Sew my style 2018 projesi kapsaminda diktigim yeni ceket. #dikis #couture #sewingproject #handmadebyme #handmadeclothes #diyfashion
Finally I am posting my version of the January make for #sewmystyle2018 . This is the #sunnydress from Friday Pattern Company. I made quite a few adjustments. I lengthened the front piece and gathered on the sides for maternity adjustments. I also lengthened the sleeves because it is still pretty cold out. This was actually my muslin but I liked it as a functional dress and ended up finishing it. This is size L. I made another shorter version in size XL which I will post soon. To tell the truth, I had a bit of a debate with myself whether to post maternity photos with this tight dress but in the end I decided to go for it. In general, my path to motherhood has been rocky, but I feel more at ease now, just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. #sewing #dikis #couture #sewingproject #handmadebyme #handmadeclothes #sewstripes @sewcialists
